HI!
My name is Miranda Kania
And WELCOME!
Aside from being in a classroom and working, I love to partake in many activities. I love to travel, spend time with my family and friends, and engage in a good book. I am an avid reader. It is an act that I share with my mom who is credited for helping me find my love for books. I think of reading as an escape from one’s reality and gives the opportunity to find a new world within its pages.
I have always known that I wanted to pursue a career in teaching. When I was younger, my grandma had a playroom for us grand kids that had desks. We would pretend we were in school by making little lesson plans and activities to keep the students focused. I was always so excited to be the teacher that, at one point, I was just designated by my cousins as the teacher every time we played. I have been dreaming of becoming a teacher since I was in elementary school playing at grandma’s house.
I am in the MACSTEP program as an Undergraduate Secondary Mathematics Education student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I have greatly enjoyed my time as a student learning to be my best self as a teacher to provide a safe, comfortable environment for my students. After graduation in May, I plan on continuing my education in pursuit of receiving my master's degree. With that, I would engage in the opportunities to either continue my teachings at a high school or relocate to a technical college. I adore teaching and cannot wait to grow into a classroom of my own to inspire the minds of young students!
I have attached a link to a resource that I myself have used quite a few times in the past, and sometimes still do when I am stuck. Khan Academy has multiple means of giving help by utilizing videos filled with conceptual information, examples, and an interactive quiz. I did include the high school mathematics link, but the website can be navigated for other courses as well! It does ask for sign ups, but a majority of the units are free to look at.

Hi Miranda! Great introduction! What book are you currently reading? Or do you have any suggestions for a not so consistent reader?
ReplyDeleteHi Miranda,
ReplyDeleteLove the design of the blog and getting the opportunity to get to know a little more about you. What books do you enjoy reading, and are you currently working through any books while in school?
